How to control your impulsive overeating (Lessons from a self-confessed cookie lover)

Do you feel sometimes like the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street? As soon as you see cookies, chips, burgers or beer you simply want some – even if you are not hungry, even if you had no thoughts about this cookie or cake just a minute ago. But suddenly there is an urge to eat which you cannot control.

I was surprised to learn that the Cookie Monster himself sings about some great strategies for using breathing self-regulation to enhance his self-control. So even though he really wants cookies, he acknowledges how hard it is to wait and how he needs to encourage himself to improve his self-control.

For adults and children, it is important to learn self-control. Spare a few minutes to listen to this inspirational song from someone who finds it so difficult to control himself around cookies.
